Julie is a Newhouse Scholar who earned her dual BA in Advertising and Psychology.
Julie started her career working in corporate public relations and advertising before joining the staff of a small nonprofit organization in Boston as the Director of Communications. From there, she helped start a new teen dating violence organization and national public service campaign.
During her time at UCLA Anderson, Julie founded the Net Impact Consulting Challenge while working as an editor for the Anderson Exchange. She earned the Outstanding Student Award in the Human Resources and Organizational Behavior Department.
After completing her MBA, Julie worked at Sempra Energy and then joined the team at DonorsChoose.org where she served in multiple roles during the organization’s rapid expansion. From there, Julie helped open a local franchise of a national recruiting and staffing firm in Los Angeles.
Today, Julie coaches and consults with nonprofit organizations on digital fundraising strategies. She also teaches a Digital Fundraising course at UCLA Extension.
Outside of her formal work experience, Julie volunteers at the International Rescue Committee, mentoring refugees through the job search process. She volunteers with Social Venture Partners, coaching nonprofit organizations for the annual “fast pitch” event, and is a board member of the Beauty Bus Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing respite to chronically or terminally ill men, women, children, and their caregivers.
