Johanna has an MBA from the Wharton School, an MA from the Lauder Institute at the School of Art & Sciences of the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA from Pomona College, magna cum laude. She earned her MBA in management and MA in International Studies with a focus on Mandarin Chinese and East Asian Studies. Johanna has had many diverse experiences including marketing and market research, global strategic projects and internal strategy for a Fortune 500 technology company. She lived and worked abroad in Korea and China for over seven years and was a Fulbright Scholar to Korea in 2002-2003. Prior to business school, she was a product manager at a global transportation company. Johanna has a long-term involvement in admissions work and a passion for writing. She was a Lauder admissions interviewer while at Wharton and a Lauder alumni interviewer in Korea for 3.5 years. She has been a Pomona college alumni admissions interviewer for over 10 years. She won the Lauder thesis prize for the best MA thesis while at Wharton, and won the thesis prize for her undergraduate thesis at Pomona College as well. Her passion for writing extends to language, and she speaks five languages fluently. In her free time Johanna enjoys hiking and biking, and completed a 500 km bike ride from Seoul to Busan, Korea last year.
