Emma Zolbrod

Round One

After earning my MBA from INSEAD in 1999, I moved to Silicon Valley to pursue a marketing career in the information technology sector. I arrived during the height of the dot.com bubble, and was also there when it burst. After spending more than a year on the Marketing Team at Corio (an application service provider later acquired by IBM), I was recruited by one of its vendors, Ventaso Inc., as a Senior Business Consultant. I went on to lead the Marketing Department at GetActive Software (later acquired by Convio) a mid-sized company headquartered in Berkeley, California where I focused on marketing online communication tools to nonprofit organizations. I resigned from my former company in Silicon Valley in late 2005 and moved from San Francisco, California to Victoria, Canada to join R1.During R1’s low season, I am a freelance marketing consultant focused on the technology sector and work with US-based clients. I work with my brother, Stephen Round (University at Albany, State University of New York MBA), R1’s Founder/Executive Director.
